Hanna Carter once served as an ex-special forces soldier, but a promise to her dying father led her toward a quieter life on a ranch. She married Jake Thompson and spent ten years caring for their household and five children, putting her own past aside while Jake's family benefited from her sacrifices. That fragile arrangement collapses when Jake arrives with his mistress and asks for a divorce. His family also moves against Hanna, seeking control of the farm and a way to force her and the children out. With her home and family security threatened, Hanna can no longer remain the self-effacing wife they think they know. Her buried identity and hard-won strength become central to a reckoning with Jake, his family, and the consequences of their betrayal.
