Clara, a young widow, spends a single night with a stranger in the castle rose garden. She does not know he is Crown Prince Gabriel. When she becomes pregnant, she leaves her baby and a golden ring on the castle steps to protect him from a tyrant. Later, Clara returns to the castle as a wet nurse, caring for a little prince who refuses all other nurses. She has no idea that the child is her own son, or that the cold prince she serves is the man from that one night. As Clara grows closer to the child and the prince, the truth about their shared past begins to surface. The central conflict lies in the secrets that separate them: her hidden identity as the baby's mother, his unawareness of their night together, and the danger that forced her to give up her son. When the truth finally emerges, Gabriel makes a decision that changes everything.
