Ivy has endured repeated bullying on behalf of the boy she loves, convinced that shielding him is what he needs. She is even ready to leave her school with him. But a private conversation exposes a different story: his vulnerable image is an act, designed to keep Ivy close while he focuses on Lily, a newly arrived student with limited means. Hurt by the betrayal, Ivy stops treating his suffering as her responsibility. She contacts her mother about the elite school previously mentioned and chooses to go there alone. What he does not realize is that Ivy is the Winchester family’s sole heir, a truth hidden from him. As she walks away from this painful attachment, Ivy faces the consequences of his deception and begins finding a direction beyond the role he expected her to play.
