Captain Alexander Vaughn has reached the top of his hockey club and league, becoming its youngest MVP. Yet his success is overshadowed when someone gives him an aphrodisiac. The resulting encounter with Lila Cobb, who works as the pub’s beer girl, leaves both facing a situation neither appears prepared for. As she returns home, one urgent question hangs over her: will she tell her abusive aunt what happened? Their brief connection leads to an unexpected pregnancy. Eight months later, Lila has been rejected by her family and gives birth to a premature baby boy. With hospital expenses pressing down on her, she works relentlessly to cope. Meanwhile, Alexander is trying to find Lila, while the fallout from their single night keeps their lives tied together. The story centers on whether he can reach Lila and their child.
