After a difficult year at Yale and a breakup, Becca takes a summer away from the pressures of her usual life. Her plans change when she becomes involved with James, her best friend Tally’s father. What begins as an unexpected intimate encounter quickly becomes a complicated connection shaped by their age difference and the fact that it should not happen. Becca understands that Tally cannot discover the truth, but keeping James and their secret apart from the rest of her life proves increasingly difficult. As James draws her deeper into their private arrangement, Becca must manage her feelings while fearing the consequences of exposure. The possibility of Tally finding out places her relationships and carefully maintained world under growing strain.
